The Tanzania eFootball™ Mobile Kick-Off Clash, organized by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), is set to become the premier mobile esports competition in the country. Scheduled for Sunday, 15 February 2026 at 11:00 AM, the tournament will feature 128 of Tanzania’s top players competing in a high-stakes 1v1 double elimination format.
Recognized by FIFAe, the event marks a significant step in strengthening Tanzania’s presence within the global football esports ecosystem.
Eligibility and Registration
The competition is open to Tanzanian citizens aged 16 and above. All participants must hold a valid FIFAe player account on FIFA.GG and must not have represented another FIFA member association in FIFAe tournaments.
Registration is free of charge and conducted exclusively through FIFA.GG, ensuring transparency and alignment with international standards. For inquiries, players can contact stewart.mmari@tff.or.tz.
Match Format and Competition Setup
Matches will be played in Friend Match mode using Authentic Teams (Tanzania Team). The designated home player will host the match room and share the access code through the FIFA.GG lobby.
Standard competition settings will apply:
- 6-minute halves
- No injuries
- No extra time or penalties in early rounds
- Up to 5 substitutions across 3 stoppages
Stadium settings are fixed to maintain fairness and consistency: eFootball Stadium, Night setting, Summer season, and Normal pitch conditions. In the event of jersey conflicts, referees or administrators will make the final decision.
Oversight, Fair Play, and Discipline
All matches will be supervised by certified FIFAe referees. Players are required to submit match results with screenshots, which must then be confirmed by match officials.
The tournament enforces strict disciplinary standards. Any form of cheating will result in an immediate ban, while no-shows or misconduct will lead to forfeiture. Disputes will be escalated to referees and administrators for resolution.
Pauses, Disconnections, and Tiebreakers
Players are allowed up to three tactical pauses, each lasting one minute, and only when the ball is out of play.
In cases of disconnection, matches will restart with the same lineup and tactics, and the score will be recreated. Red card situations must also be reinstated before play resumes.
If aggregate scores are tied, a Golden Goal tiebreaker will determine the winner. The tiebreaker will feature:
- 6-minute halves
- Extra time enabled
- Penalties enabled
- Team type set to Authentic or Dream Team
Rewards and Pathway Opportunities
The tournament champion will receive 500,000 TZS, while top performers may advance to the Grand Final and become eligible for National Team selection.
As a FIFAe-recognized event, the Tanzania eFootball™ Mobile Kick-Off Clash not only offers competitive prize money but also provides a structured pathway for Tanzanian players to rise through the ranks of international football esports.
With national pride on the line and global opportunities within reach, the stage is set for one of Tanzania’s most exciting mobile esports competitions to date.
