Street Fighter 6: Bilal Mohammed To represent Kenya At Dreamhack Birmingham

Kenya’s Street Fighter 6 top seed, Bilal Mohammed, is set to compete in the prestigious DreamHack Birmingham 2026 Cup, scheduled for March 28–29, 2026, in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

The competition, which serves as an official Esports World Cup qualifying stage, will bring together with competitors from 38 nations worldwide, all vying for the two available qualification
slots to the global finals.

The 2024 African champion has expressed confidence in his chances, drawing from his experience at EVO France 2025, where he made an impressive European debut, finishing 97th out of 1,644 players.

“I can say that I now have an understanding of what it takes to compete against players from Europe and other regions outside Africa. The lessons from our debut in France and the hard work that I have put in will definitely carry me through. I just want to make my country proud,” said Bilal.

Esports Kenya Federation President, Ronny Lusigi, also expressed confidence in Bilal’s prospects, describing him as a product of the federation’s growing structures and development efforts.

“Bilal Mohammed is a perfect example of our federation’s commitment to taking Kenyan esports players to the highest levels of global competition. Just a few years ago, it was unheard of to see Kenyan esports players competing across Europe, but today this is becoming the norm. Kenyan players are now visible on the global stage, and we will continue to facilitate and support such
opportunities.”

Street Fighter 6 is a globally recognized fighting game where players compete in 1v1 matches, typically on PlayStation 5, and is regarded as one of the leading titles in the competitive fighting game community.
